Cape Town has an abundance of extraordinary private gardens, and this route focuses on the indigenous private gardens, gardens that reflect the natural magnificence of the city, and the creativity of their gardeners. Each Route visits two private gardens, and an indigenous nursery. The nursery provides an introduction to the plants of the region. At each home, guests will enjoy a high tea with the creators of the gardens.

The Route takes in a variety of styles and locations. Some gardens are in townships, and are a tribute to the triumph of the garden over adversity. And some are in the suburbs where, traditionally, gardenshave thrived. It is a great way to learn about Cape Town's natural environment, while getting a greater insight into the city and its people.

Tuesday afternoons. 2pm to 6pm. R550 per person.
Meeting point is the V&A Waterfront Clocktower Centre.
